I want to share some great advice that I received when I was running my own successful business as a Mary Kay Consultant, going to school full-time, and working another job.
Instead of making a huge To-Do list that never seems to get done, every night plan your "6 Most Important Things" list for the next day. It helps you focus on the important things, rather than fill your time with the less important ones. Plus, you feel great when you actually accomplish your list!
I'm always looking for great tips on how to stay organized, be healthy, or be financially smart when life is busy! This little tip has helped me many times. Today my list read (in no particular order of importance): 1. Workout, 2. Redo My Resume, 3. Get organized with Credit Cards, 4. Take Chair to Grandma's House, 5. Buy Fertilizer and Bug Killer for my Flowers, and 6. Shop for New Bedding. That list is totally manageable, right!?
In celebration of the "going back to school" or "things are chaotic" season, I have decided to sponsor my very first giveaway. I have recently relaunched my Mary Kay business! In celebration--and because I love you and think you deserve to be pampered--I am going to giveaway a Mary Kay gift AND a 50% OFF Coupon to one of my followers. You can flip through the latest catalog here. Most of all, I just want to say thank you to everyone who reads this blog and bounces their thoughts around with me.

ReplyDeleteI am trying to lose weight also! I drink water and have recently started drinking diet Coke! Took me a little while to get used to--to the diet soda. Aside from that, I try not to eat after 7pm, eat lots of fruit and veggies.
ReplyDeleteOooooo Mary Kay is nice stuff! I use Velocity for my acne- it's the only face wash that has helped me so far.
ReplyDeleteThis is for everyone- about the weight, I have some tips for you. It's ALL about lowering the amount of carbs per day. I learned all of this from my mom. She has lost 25 pounds in the past 2 months this way: by eating only 45 carbs per day. She doesn't count calories or anything else. She just keeps tracks of the carbs. And for extra energy she just takes B12 vitamins every morning. And ya wanna know what else?? She doesn't even exercise! I don't really agree with her not getting exercise, but she is a busy busy woman.
So she is a perfect example of of a busy lady who still controls the weight without all those supliments and programs like weightwatchers. Just watches her carbs, not even worrying about calories. It will take a week or so getting used to not eating as many carbs per day, but it is possible to keep your weight under control in a busy life.
I can even pass along her daily menu, with all kinds of ideas for low carb meals and snackaroonies. Sorry I type alot. :]

I have a bad habit of eating fast food and drinking way too much sweetened tea. Lately I've been cooking more at home and drinking water with my meals. Fast food is a hard habit to break... especially when you're always on the go!

ReplyDeleteyay!! thanks for telling me about it! I've been such a blog slacker! Hope I win!! :)
ReplyDeleteShoot... ok that one above counts as my tweet, I forgot to tell you advice for organization: Sometimes take a break, breathe and come back later! :) I do that A LOT but it helps!
ReplyDeleteI am an avid list maker. Lists help me to focus on the tasks that need to be handled, as well as a sense of acccomplishment once I have crossed everything off that has been completed. Lists help to keep the stress level down which promotes a healthier, happier lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteI am following you on Twitter & Facebook. Also got ya covered on your rss feed. Yep, you know it ... I'm a social networking nut. LOL. I look forward to reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteI made sure that everyone of my Twitter buds knows your name, rank & serial number. LOL.
ReplyDeleteHey! FutureMama had reposted your note about the Mary Kay giveaway, & since I had an Aunt who sold it, & know it's good stuff, I figured I'd look into it.
ReplyDeleteSo, am a new follower of your blog! Congrats, by the way, on your new life!!!
Having not been the best steward of my money in the past, my hubby & I, now with a new baby & things being tight, are learning quickly (we hope, heh)!
ReplyDeleteI've found that there are a lot of free coupon sites online, and also, if you go to specific websites for companies--everything from P&G to Walmart to General Mills cereal to Swiffer-- you can often get really good coupons right from the site, & even freebies!
Coupons make a world of difference. Sunday papers are worth subscribing to just for the coupons alone, which more than pay for the paper.
Sorry, heh. Long comment! I'll re-tweet your giveaway also!
Followed and RT'd http://twitter.com/_McLaughlin/status/3777769242 your post.
ReplyDeleteI let myself gain weight because of issues in the family.
To lose that weight I stopped drinking everything except coffee tea and water.
Those cookies I love so much - gone and now no sugar is added to anything. That was easy.
I've cut out 90% or more red meat and I'm close to vegatarian as I can be.
I've lost 18 kilos or 39.5 pounds. This is as close to the weight that I was when I left Marine Corps boot camp in 1982 as I think I can get. But after bootcamp I had muscle and that is heavier than fat, so I did look slimmer then.
All summer we walked for about 2 hours every morning, and with the weather turning colder, we have stopped. Now to find another exercise that I can do to stay slim.
I just tweeted! ;)

ReplyDeleteAnd I am also on the "need to lose weight" wagon. Best advice from me is to drink lots of water and get in at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. :)
